Troubles on a Thursday

Today was one of those days when everything seems to go wrong:

For starters, those new shoes I bought the other day – I just realized they’re one size too small…while I was half way to work. That means I had to sit through the entire day with sore toes before walking (ouch!) home. And having skipped the weather forecast, I didn’t take my umbrella so I had to walk (ouch!) in the rain. Apparently new shoes don’t like rain either.

At work, I nearly lost my head over a dumb argument with a stupid manager who had no idea what I was talking about. Took me over 2hours and ton of Email to get him to see the light.

And at the end of the day, I forgot to leave my backpack in my locker at work, so I had to come straight home carrying a 5pound laptop instead of heading over to the zeil for dinner like I had originally planned to.

Oh and there’s at least another 4 items in my inbox that demand my “immediate action” (whatever the hell that means) as soon as I get in tomorrow morning.

It is exactly at times like these when I think about all those people out there who don’t have a place to come home to; shoes to wear; managers to cuss or a job to crib about.

…and realize life, just can’t get any better than this!

I thought your days were going very happy because of the 13 comments! (But actually, comments don't make someone happy, do they?).

hahaha... short shoes! Did you buy them in a hurry?

@saurabh
I was...er..still am happy dude; little things like this don't put you down.
I guess it isn't the shoes..my feet are kinda weird I guess.

And yeah, 13comments within 24hrs is the best I've got so far

I visit Image of The Day once in a while too...never left any comments though but your shots are awesome!

@rayees
Hmm, "somewhat okay"? Bro, I guess we have among the best public transport networks in the world over here... :)

Yikes, what a day! Sometimes it feels like when one bad thing happens, a whole lot of others follow as well.

But you put things in perspective at the end. :)

here i go....at a sweep i took 5 envelopes from my post box...three of them were asking money from me....the amount put together will clean my savings which will mean no holidays for me!

Jazakallah brother, yes we do need a reminder once in a while. There are a lot of times when I will start feeling like my energy going down the drain, but Alhamdhulillah, we all are blessed with the Faith, so it doesnt get all that worse.

BTW, just a suggestion. Why dont you combine your Fish Tank thoughts in this blog itself? You have a lot of visitors here and it might get easier for them to know of some of your valuable thoughts.

@Sindhu
Its known as the domino effect...or maybe that's just the way we see it when one thing like that happens.
And as you say, its all about perspective.
Many ppl i know don't bother to think along those last lines.

@ela
Hmm, looks like someone else's having a bad day too...
I'm glad at least I don't have to bother too much with finances at the moment. :)

@faiza
:)
You are welcome.
And yes, regarding your suggestion, believe me when I say it has crossed my mind more than once. But to be honest, it is actually to do with a historic reason more than any logical one, that BFT and this blog are separate. BFT started off a lot later than this blog when I realized I had more to say.

I am working (trying to, at least:) on getting up a new blog linking these both, inshaAllah it should be up sooner than we hope.
Any help is welcome.

:D Rahman!! are your feet better now? and hope you did get to return those goddamn shoes... unfortunately nothing else can be fixed I guess.. The rain, your boss, the email demanding immediate action. I agree.. :) some days they suck way more than the others!! But Ofcourse I see that there is still a brighter side to life like the NFS,, ;P so i know you are going to be okay!

@a wondering mind
Hey hi!
No actually, I bought those a coupla weeks ago while I was in Chennai...there goes 2,000bucks down the drain :(
And that manager guy isn't my boss; that's the problem because every two bit manager thinks he knows better.

Actually one thing I am looking forward to is NFS...although not Undercover.
