A walk in the woods

Even though I currently live in a quiet suburb at the edge of a large woods, I never really bothered to walk through it; either because its been too cold or I’ve been too lazy for a long while now.
Anyway, late this afternoon, I was on my way home from the mosque and decided to take the uncharted route (literally!) home, by cutting straight through the woods.

I did not regret my decision.
Slowly strolling through a peaceful forest, with a soft breeze gently rustling your hair amid dense green vegetation, watching squirrels run up the trees – and watch you from behind the branches; and seeing the rays of the afternoon sunshine from a beautiful spring day filter through the tall trees above, the fresh scent of pine, the feel of crisp leaves and twigs snapping underfoot while listening to the birds chirping above…

It has to be one of the most beautiful experiences in the world.

It can be such a beautiful feeling!

I'd like to dedicate "The Road Not Taken" By Robert Frost to this post.

Enjoy!

Hmm, insects...never gave that much thought before. And now that you mention it, I do see a lot of rather large mosquitos around here these days :)

@alok
The Road Not Taken is elegant and spellbinding at the same time. I love that poem.

Nice! But when am in such calmness, the monkey inside my head screams and I tend to spoil the serenity. But such adventurous 'Road not taken' attempts are good though :)

wow, apparently many human beings are alike in more than one way.. i do that too here. even though kochi is a fairly green place here and there, i prefer to have a quiet walk by myself or with my friend sometimes..

reminds one of the poem by robert frost doesnt it.. a path in the woods..

Well I haven't met a person yet who didn't like nature....although I guess not all of us are fortunate enough to be able to experience it.
